Lions Club Lucknow Kapoorthala Organizes LCIF-Inspired Winter Relief Blanket Distribution Service
On Wednesday, 14 January, the Lions Club Lucknow Kapoorthala, District 321B1, organized a compassionate winter relief service programme, demonstrating its continued commitment to humanitarian values and community service during the cold winter season. The activity was carried out in alignment with the broader service objectives of Lions Clubs International and the humanitarian cause of Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), which supports initiatives aimed at alleviating human suffering and promoting dignity.
The programme was conducted in the esteemed presence of the widely respected PMJF Lion Dr. R. C. Mishra, District Governor 321B1 PMJF, and Lion Naveen Jhingran, Chief District Coordinator (Events). Their encouraging presence inspired club members and reinforced the spirit of selfless service that defines the Lions movement.
The activity was guided and supported by Lion Virendra Pratap Singh, Region Chairperson, and Lion Vinay Dixit, Zone Chairperson. The overall leadership of the programme was efficiently handled by Lion Arun Tiwari, President of the club, whose direction ensured disciplined planning and smooth execution of the service activity.
The blanket distribution drive was conducted at multiple locations including Vivekanand Puri, Kapurthala Chauraha, and various points inside the King George’s Medical University Hospital premises, where poor residents, homeless individuals, patients, and attendants of hospitalized patients were found battling the biting cold. Blankets were distributed among the needy with dignity and care, offering them warmth and comfort during the harsh winter night.
Several senior and active members of the club participated wholeheartedly in the programme. Lion P. K. Chaudhary, Lion Sushil Verma, and Lion Brijendra Singh played an important role in reaching out to beneficiaries and ensuring that assistance was provided to those most in need.
The service activity was meticulously coordinated by Lion Ajay Kumar, Activity Chairperson, along with Lion Santosh Kumar Singh, Co-Activity Chairperson. Their teamwork, planning, and humane approach significantly contributed to the success of the programme. Lion Rajiv Suri, Secretary of the club, actively supported the coordination and documentation of the programme, ensuring proper organization and smooth communication among members.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to the Lions Club members for their timely help and compassion. The initiative not only provided protection from the cold but also conveyed a strong message of empathy, solidarity, and social responsibility, reflecting the service ideals promoted through LCIF-supported humanitarian efforts worldwide.
This service activity once again reflected the enduring Lions motto “We Serve”, highlighting how collective effort, dedicated leadership, and genuine concern for humanity can bring comfort and hope to those in need.
