During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lions in Surabaya, Indonesia realized that many people in community were struggling to find necessities including food. Wanting to help their community, they decided to ask their foundation, Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), for assistance.

Because of LCIF’s support, the Surabaya Patria Lions Club in District 307-B2 in Indonesia received a US$750 District Club and Community Impact Grant in October 2021 to purchase food and provide meals for low-income individuals and families. Every day for two weeks, Lions distributed nearly 150 free meals per day to help people impacted by the pandemic. Not only are Lions providing meals, they are also providing hope to those that need it most.
