Western Gala Spurs Generosity, Celebrates Lions’ Spirit and Leadership
District C2 Lions came together on June 18, 2025, for a Western-themed BBQ gala for an evening full of camaraderie, purpose and impact. With 122 tickets sold and 106 Lions and guests in attendance, the event featured a lively photo booth with 2024-2025 LCIF Chairperson Dr. Patti Hill and partner in service Lion Greg, raising CAD$550. A spirited raffle added CAD$2,100 more, and the night’s energy inspired clubs and District C1 to turn in an additional CAD$5,900 in donations.
The evening also had a challenge for C2 Lions clubs: purchase two tickets and donate enough to the Lions of Canada Fund for LCIF to support at least one new Melvin Jones Fellowship. Thanks to their generosity, the event is expected to contribute over CAD$20,000 toward LCIF. With excitement still buzzing, plans are already forming for future celebrations.
