Social Impact Center Roars with Pride
Serving as a beacon of hope and support, the Social Impact Center is making a powerful impact in Örnek Mahallesi, Ataşehir, Istanbul.
This five-story facility, open to people of all ages, provides essential groceries, cleaning supplies, textiles, and stationery to over 2,500 local families in need.
The project started as an idea of Kuzguncuk Lions Club and Ahenk Lions Club. They submitted the project to the local municipality, Ataşehir Belediyesi — and they loved the project!
The LCIF Hunger Grant funded the purchase of the vehicle used to transport goods between marketplaces and deliver them to the center.
2020–2021 District Governor Belma Bozyiğit proudly attended the opening ceremony alongside fellow Lions, marking the beginning of a sustainable and heartfelt mission to fight hunger and uplift the community.
Since its inception, Lions clubs of Istanbul’s Asian Side (District 118 Y) supported the center, started courses and trainings for the local community.
The center has gained local media attention and was recognized with the Local Governments Award shortly after its inception.
