Mooloolaba Lions 50 year birthday celebration
Mooloolaba Lions 50 Years Community Service
Mooloolaba Lions celebrated 50 years of serving the local community, the broader community, and Lions National and International Projects such as disaster relief for Fires, Floods, and other natural disasters, over the many years. We also are involved in many Lions Projects such as Lions Youth of the Year, Youth Insearch, Youth Exchange, Primary Schools Writing Challenge, Driver Education in High Schools, The Special Schools events such as the Island Charity Swim, recycle for sight, (collecting old spectacles for third world countries) The Local Swanies Leo’s Club. This has all been possible with the hard work of Lions managing the Fisherman’s Road Markets providing the funds to achieve all this, all big with the many BBQs at Bunnings and other local events as requested. Hard work but as you know a job shared is a job halved. Fiona Simpson, Andrew Wallace and Ted Hungerford were all there to celebrate with us.
Mooloolaba Lions through its Fisherman’s Road Market has been a great supporter of Lions Clubs International Foundation donating between 2012-2024 the amount of $65.000. I am pleased to confirm that the Fisherman’s Road has played a part in and along with Australian Lions Clubs in raising funds to helping Ukraine Country Folk survive the Russian Invasion. The total amount of donations from Australian Lions Clubs (MD 201) to the Refugee and Displaced Persons fund is US$145,163.40.

Responding to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine
The conflict in Ukraine has driven millions of people from their homes, creating a humanitarian crisis that is forcing families to search for safety and security. In this time of great need, Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) is awarding grants to make sure Lions are there to help provide immediate relief to those struggling to meet their most basic needs, and Lions around the world are uniting through kindness to help the people who desperately need it.
we’ve expanded the program to include other needs the Ukrainian refugees may have.
Not only do we approve grants to provide items for immediate relief, but LCIF now allows for items addressing integrational and transitional needs.
In case you are interested in the program, I wanted to provide more information.
If you would like additional information on the program or have any questions in general, I’m happy to help. Please don’t hesitate to let me know.
