Lions Blood Heroes: Compassion, Collboration, Action

The 13th Lions Blood Heroes blood donation activity, held on 25–26 September 2026 at Central Park Mall 2, Jakarta, brought together Lions and Leos, healthcare partners, volunteers, corporate supporters and members of the public in a shared humanitarian effort. The event received a special visit from Lions Clubs International Immediate Past International President and LCIF Chairperson AP Singh, accompanied by Board Appointee PID Sangeeta, highlighting the connection between the local initiative and the wider Lions Clubs International movement.
During the opening, AP Singh emphasized that human blood remains irreplaceable and is needed by people regardless of their financial circumstances, particularly during surgery and other medical procedures. He also recognized the organizers for bringing together 1,000 donors and described the turnout as a reflection of community participation and awareness of the responsibility to help others.
The Lions Blood Heroes program has also expanded through technology and community participation. Since its launch in July 2026, myLBH application have recruited more than 3,000 participants across six events, supported more than 2,400 participants and contributed to more than 1,000 blood bags. The 13th activity itself was organized by 14 Lions Clubs and two Leo Clubs within Lions Club District 307A1, with support from Indonesian Red Cross blood transfusion units from Central Jakarta, South Tangerang and Majalengka.
Beyond blood donation, the event demonstrated the power of collaboration and inclusion. Clinics, hospitals, pharmaceutical and healthcare partners, corporate CSR supporters and Central Park Mall 2 contributed to the initiative. Lions, Leos, community volunteers and friends with intellectual disabilities also worked together to prepare goodie bags for participants, showing how people with different backgrounds and abilities can contribute meaningfully to community service.
The two-day gathering ultimately carried a message that humanitarian service is a shared responsibility. Through blood donation, volunteering, technology and cross-sector collaboration, the Lions Blood Heroes initiative brought people together with a common purpose: helping others and strengthening the spirit of compassion, participation and service within the community.
