Lion Martin & New Voices Europe for kids in Kenya
Martin Petrov from Vidin became “Ubuntu” – climbed Kilimanjaro and won the hearts of children in Africa.
The Vidin native is a part of the global cause “Kilimanjaro for Kids” of Lions New Voices Europe, Lions Global Action Team, as a representative of the Bulgarian Lions Clubs and the Association of Lions Clubs in Bulgaria “District 130”, who support the initiative.
The campaign started in 2019 when 10 Lions women from Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, Russia and others, climbed Kilimanjaro and dedicated their achievement to the cause: to raise funds for a new nursery home for the kids in Amrita Center, Kenya.
This is the third consecutive peak in the last three years that Petrov has climbed and dedicated to a charitable cause. In 2021, he flew the flag for the national cause “Bulgaria against diabetes” from the roof of Europe and conquered the Caucasian peak of Elbrus (5,642m), this happens for the second time, after only a year earlier he conquered the deadliest peak of the old Montagne (4,810m) in the Alps.
