Leo Club Provides Free Health Checks in Dhaka
As part of Lions International District 315 A1’s October Service Week 2025, the Leo Club of Dhaka Century Plus, with the support of the Lions Club of Dhaka Century, organized a free medical camp in the Matuail, Jatrabari area, providing essential healthcare to local factory workers.
The event aimed to address the healthcare needs of workers who rarely have access to routine medical check-ups. The Leo Club offered free blood group testing, blood pressure checks, and diabetes screenings. For many workers, this was the first time they received such services.
One of the highlights of the camp was identifying several workers with eye problems. These individuals were listed for free eye surgeries to be arranged soon, bringing renewed hope for a better quality of life.
The event was made possible by the tireless efforts of Leo members, including:
Blood Group Testing: Leo Md. Faysal Kanan and Leo Jannat Rahman Anannia
Blood Pressure Checks: Leo F.S. Suchi, Leo Arfun, and Leo Alve
Diabetes Testing: Leo Hanjala Mahmud Prohor, Leo Sawda, Leo Kanij Fatema, and Leo Sinha Akter Hiam
The program was graced by key figures from both the Leo and Lions Clubs, including Ln Jahangir Alam Jitu PMJF, Ln Jabeer, Lion Hasibur Rahman, and Lion Azmol, whose leadership and presence ensured the event’s success.
The camp not only provided immediate healthcare but also helped raise awareness about health issues, showing the workers that their well-being matters. The Leo Club of Dhaka Century Plus is committed to continuing such initiatives, reaching more underserved communities and ensuring long-term health support for the workers.
This event is a shining example of LCIF’s mission to promote health and service to humanity. Through this program, the Leo and Lions Clubs have proven that small acts of service can have a big impact on the lives of many.
