Indonesia Fights Diabetes!
As the country with the 7th highest number of diabetics in the world, Indonesia needs to combat this disease that kills so many people. This mother of all diseases is mostly caused by inappropriate lifestyles and is passed down from generation to generation. Ironically, most sufferers come with pre-diabetes or even very severe conditions. For this reason, Perkumpulan Lions Indonesia district 307-B1 in collaboration with Carolus Hospital established Carolus Integrated Diabetic Clinic. With an unbalanced ratio between doctors and patients served, Perkumpulan Lions Indonesia provides assistance by educating the public about lifestyles to avoid the risk of diabetes in integrated clinics.
And District 307 B1 has received a Grant from LCIF of US$106,179, which will be used to purchase 4 units of equipment for the Comprehensice Diabetes Center at St. Carolus Hospital worth US $ 141,572. This Legacy Project is supported by Yayasan Lions Indonesia and Yayasan Lions Mengabdi Indonesia, and also supported by 12 Clubs namely: LCJS Sentra Bisnis, LCJS Tulip LCJT Ebony, LCJS Menteng Spirit, LCJ Mitra Anyelir, LCJ Victory Prima, LCJ Mutiara Prima, LCJ Nusantara, LCJS Metteyya Mahardhika, LCJ Menteng Sejati, LCJ Bunga Tanjung and LCJT New Jade.
Hopefully the integrated clinic and equipment provided can benefit the community in the fight against diabetes.
