GIVE WAY To AMBULANCE
The permanent public-interest project “Give Way to Ambulance” of Lions Club Lucknow Shan-e-Avadh Diamond, under Lions District 321B1, took another meaningful step forward with the inauguration of newly installed awareness signages at Regency Super Specialty Hospital.
The inauguration was graciously carried out by PMJF Lion Dr. R. C. Mishra, District Governor 321B1, reaffirming the Lions’ unwavering commitment to saving lives through timely intervention and public education.
In emergencies, every second counts. An ambulance delayed by traffic congestion can mean the difference between life and death. The “Give Way to Ambulance” initiative addresses this critical reality by sensitizing citizens to their moral and civic responsibility on the road. The prominently placed signages serve as constant reminders to drivers and pedestrians alike that yielding space to an ambulance is not merely a courtesy. it is a life-saving duty.
India’s urban traffic often poses severe challenges for emergency vehicles. Narrow roads, congestion, and lack of awareness can lead to avoidable delays. Through this permanent project, the Lions aim to cultivate a culture of empathy, discipline, and preparedness. When motorists anticipate an approaching ambulance and proactively create a clear corridor, they collectively become silent partners in saving lives. The message is simple yet powerful: move aside, create space, and let life pass through.
Speaking on the occasion, District Governor Lion Dr. R. C. Mishra emphasized that “service beyond self” lies at the heart of Lionism. He appreciated the foresight of the club in choosing a project that delivers sustained impact. Unlike one-time events, permanent signages continue to educate thousands every day, long after the inauguration ceremony ends. Such initiatives, he noted, align perfectly with Lions’ global focus on health, safety, and humanitarian service.
The event witnessed the presence of PDG Lion B.M. Srivastava, Lion Naveen Jhingran, District Cabinet Secretary (Events) and a committed member of the club, along with the Club President and several dedicated Lions. Their collective presence underscored teamwork and shared responsibility in translating vision into action. Members also interacted with visitors at the hospital, reinforcing the message through conversation and example.
By anchoring this initiative at a super specialty hospital , a place intrinsically connected to emergency care and saving lives , the project gains deeper symbolism and relevance. “Give Way to Ambulance” stands as a reminder that service does not always require grand gestures; sometimes, it begins with awareness, discipline, and compassion on the road.
Through this enduring project, Lions Club Lucknow Shan-e-Avadh Diamond continues to lead by example, proving that thoughtful civic initiatives can create ripples of change, one clear road, one saved life, at a time.
