D301A2 Region 2 for Lapulapu Odette Victims
It started from a Coastal Clean Up in Nov. 28th 2021 at Bgy. Odlot in Bogo, Cebu. Delayed the return upon advice of a strong Typhoon Odette (Cat. 5 Rai) coming to hit Cebu as its center.
Dec. 16 – First Misa de Gallo, performed the District activity of Arrozcaldo Mula sa Puso Year 5 at Virgen dela Regla Church in Lapulapu City. Project commenced at 5am where a Typhoon of signal #3 was declared which later changed to a devastating #4. At 5pm, the ordeal began that lasted minimum of four hours.
Region 2 Clubs decided to donate the seed money from Hunger Chairperson Carolina Yutuc Matsuda, 4PMJF to the victims on Odette.
December 19 – Misa de Gallo resumed on other churches. Region 2 Clubs United in Service, distributed food bags containing a kilo rice, one can of meatloaf and a pc of noodles, to children under the age of 12yrs old, for 3 sibling sharing, at Lady of Fatima Church in Bgy Babag, Lapulapu City.
December 22 – Region 2 distributed food bags in Gun-ob Elementary School sheltering evacuees, tagged as Walang Batang Matutulog ng Gutom sa Pasko, with the same content of a kilo of rice, meatloaf and noodles to the children under age 12, for 3 sibling sharing.
December 30 – Region 2 continued its relief program with another food bag distribution to children aged 15 and below, to the evacuees sheltered at Pusok Elementary School.
10 special food bags for pre-selected families, victims within the neighborhood distributed. Lions do not just look from afar, we also take care of those distressed within reach.
Food bags contains 5 kilos rice, 6 cans of meatloaf, 1 kilo pack of spaghetti for Christmas and 20 sachets of Nescafe. This would be enough for a family of 6 for 5 meals.
With little time left, extended monetary donation to our B2 pride of Cebu thru our generous benefactors help. Thanking God for the flourishing friendship with CCLCP most especially to Mam Lucy Chiong Sy.
All resources are blessings thru the collaboration of Region 2 Clubs and with the help of PDG GST Wennie Basa Bico 10PMJF and Region 1 Chairperson Sol Flores 30PMJF whose doors were kept open always for help, whenever needed.
