Brings Smiles to Children at Consultation Center
On Monday, December 8, the Fujisawa Lions Club conducted a service activity at the Kanagawa Prefectural Central Child Consultation Center, where they treated resident children to meals from food trucks and donated Christmas presents.
The children enjoyed a variety of popular food truck menu items, including fried chicken, takoyaki, French fries, and crepes. This activity marked the sixth time the club has organized this event.
Currently, more than 30 children between the ages of 2 and under 18 are being cared for at the center for various reasons. The donated gifts included a badminton net, CDs by popular artists, a radio cassette player, movie DVDs, a Blu-ray disc player, and comic books.
During the presentation ceremony, a child representative read a letter saying:
“We do not have many opportunities to go out. We are still carefully using the presents you have given us in the past. Thank you very much.”
Club President Mr. Akihiko Aoki encouraged the members on the day of the event, saying, “Let’s make the children happy again for the sixth time.” At the opening ceremony, he also addressed the children with warm words:
“Please enjoy yourselves today and eat lots of delicious food.”
Staff members at the Child Consultation Center expressed their appreciation, commenting that experiences like this encourage and motivate the children in their future lives.
The joyful voices of children enjoying the food and delighting in their presents became a great source of inspiration for the club members. Hearing the children say, “Thank you very much!” in loud voices filled everyone with warmth and happiness, making this activity a truly rewarding experience. The Fujisawa Lions Club is committed to continuing this activity in the years to come.
The event was also attended by Mr. Ken Yoshimura, 8R 1ZC, from the brother club Fujisawa Chuo Lions Club, who offered words of praise, saying, “It was a wonderful activity.”

Thank you very much for providing us with food trucks and gifts for our sake today.
We do not have many opportunities to go out, so we rarely have the chance to eat somewhere other than the facility. For that reason, we are truly grateful.
