Sustainable Environment

Lions Club of Dhaka Shyamoli Organizes Tree Distribution Program at Playpen School, Bashundhara R/A, Dhaka.
Dhaka, October 2024: In a remarkable effort to promote environmental awareness among the younger generation, the Lions Club of Dhaka Shyamoli organized a successful Tree Distribution Program at the renowned Playpen School in Bashundhara Residential Area. Over 1,200 saplings were distributed to students, aiming to inspire the youth to build a strong connection with nature and cultivate awareness and responsibility for environmental conservation.
In addition to its ongoing initiatives such as diabetes awareness, eye screening, pediatric cancer awareness, food for hunger, and youth development, the Lions Club has placed environmental sustainability at the core of its mission. Each year, the Lions Club organizes a tree distribution program as part of its broader efforts to create a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations. This year, the initiative was held at Playpen School, where students were actively engaged, reinforcing the club’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
Promoting Sustainable Living Among the Youth
As the world faces increasing environmental challenges such as deforestation, climate change, and pollution, the need for sustainability is more critical than ever. The Lions Club recognizes that the younger generation plays a significant role in shaping a greener future. By involving students in initiatives like planting trees, the club aims to foster a lifelong appreciation for nature, encouraging young minds to take action for the planet. Through this event, students were taught the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, combating global warming, and supporting biodiversity.
Fostering Environmental Stewardship
The Tree Distribution Program is expected to inspire students to become active stewards of the environment, nurturing their saplings and learning firsthand how trees play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance, combating global warming, and supporting biodiversity. By encouraging this hands-on engagement, the Lions Club of Dhaka Shyamoli hopes to develop an understanding among students about, how even small actions can contribute to a larger environmental impact.
