Aarogya: Move For Health: “Lions’ Doctors on Doors” Mobile Health Clinic Delivering Health Care to Doorsteps
In countries where access to healthcare services remains a pressing challenge for many underserved communities, the LC Dharan Ghopa United has taken an innovative & compassionate step forward. Since July 2025, the club has been leading a groundbreaking initiative titled “Aarogya: Move For Health”, a mobile health clinic model designed to bring free screening, diagnosis, consultation & treatment directly to the doorsteps of the needy.
What started from a small village in eastern Nepal as a vision to make healthcare accessible, affordable & immediate has grown into a sustained series of “outreach medical camps & telemedicine” spanning various locations in Nepal, India & Sri Lanka. The project reflects the spirit of young Lions, Leo-Lions, Leos & Cubs, who have dedicated their time & expertise to deliver quality medical services to those who need it most.
A Unique Healthcare at Doors Model
Project Aarogya stands out for its unconventional and highly effective approach. Instead of waiting for patients to travel long distances to hospitals, often impossible due to poverty, illness or stigma, the mobile clinic team travels to community settlements, rescue centers, & vulnerable clusters OR delivers health service through telemedicine, ensuring healthcare is brought to the doorstep of every individual.
These camps are organized with the support of medical professionals, budding healthcare workers & volunteers who contribute their skills and compassion in diagnosing illnesses, offering consultations, providing counseling, & distributing medicines, all completely free of cost.
Service-Led Youth Leadership
Project Aarogya has also become a powerful platform for youth-driven service leadership. Young Lions, Leo-Lions, Leos & Cubs have played a pivotal role in every camp, from organizing logistics & mobilizing communities to assisting medical teams and ensuring continuity of care.
The initiative has fostered a new generation of service-minded healthcare volunteers who understand not only the medical needs but also the emotional & social dimensions of community health.
Impact & Community Response
Over the months, residents, caretakers & local stakeholders have expressed deep gratitude to Lions Family for the consistent support offered by the project. Many families who once struggled to find medical care for their loved ones now see visible improvement in their health & well-being.
The heartfelt testimonial of a caretaker sums up the essence of the project: “People here were struggling with untreated health issues. The Lions’ initiative has brought hope to every doorstep. We believe everyone will soon be well again.”
Several beneficiaries, previously neglected & living without care, have shown remarkable improvement, offering hope for rehabilitation & reintegration into society.
Strengthening Club Membership
The Aarogya project has energized & expanded the club’s membership by giving young Lions, Leo-Lions, Leos & Cubs a meaningful platform to serve directly in the community, aiding our Mission 1.5. Seeing real impact at the doorstep of the needy has inspired prospects to join as members & motivated existing members to stay actively involved, creating a stronger, more committed & service-driven team.
Marketing Lions International
By taking free healthcare into underserved neighborhoods, the project has powerfully showcased the “We Serve” spirit of Lions International. Every camp has acted as a live demonstration of Lions’ commitment to humanity, creating strong visibility, trust and goodwill. As a result, the name “Lions” is increasingly recognized as a symbol of hope, service & compassion in the community.
Vision Ahead
Project Chief Leo-Lion Dr. Shuvam Kumar Agrawal, emphasizes that the project aims to deliver timely medical intervention, increase access and improve the quality of life of marginalized populations
