PLANTING BEYOND BORDERS
Cavite ASMEPPS Lions Club, PMJF: Planting Beyond Borders
Driven by the unwavering commitment to service, dedicated Lions traveled all the way to Quirino Province to carry out a meaningful community mission — one of which was tree planting, a symbolic and sustainable act of environmental care.
Though geographically distant from the nation’s capital, Quirino is a place that should never be forgotten. As a province recognized for its ancestral domains, Quirino is home to indigenous communities like the Bugkalot and Agta, who have protected and lived in harmony with the land for generations.
Its majestic mountains, lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and protected landscapes not only define its natural charm but also serve as a source of livelihood, culture, and identity for its people. The Quirino Protected Landscape, which spans much of the province, plays a vital role in preserving biodiversity and sustaining local ecosystems.
By planting trees, the Cavite ASMEPPS Lions Club joined local efforts in environmental conservation — a small but powerful step toward protecting the natural heritage of Quirino. More than just a project, the mission was a gesture of solidarity — a reminder that true service means reaching out even to the most remote corners of our country.
Through initiatives like this, it reaffirms the dedication to building a better, greener, and more inclusive Philippines — one province at a time.
