Leo Club of Dhaka One Plus Alleviates Heatwave Suffering with Water and Saline Distribution
Dhaka, Bangladesh: Amidst a scorching heatwave gripping Bangladesh, the Leo Club of Dhaka One Plus has taken a commendable humanitarian initiative. The club distributed free cold water and oral saline to rickshaw pullers and pedestrians, providing much-needed relief. This act of compassion not only benefited the vulnerable but also sparked interest among the youth in Leo Clubs and Lions Clubs.
Bangladesh has recently experienced an unprecedented surge in temperature, making life exceedingly difficult, especially for rickshaw pullers and pedestrians. Recognizing their plight, the Leo Club of Dhaka One Plus stepped up to fulfill its social responsibility.
Club members stationed themselves at key locations throughout Dhaka, distributing cold water and oral saline to rickshaw drivers and passersby. The small respite from the heat was met with gratitude, and many thanked the Leo Club for their efforts. Beyond the immediate relief, this initiative has sparked curiosity among young people about the Leo and Lions Clubs’ missions.
The President of the Leo Club of Dhaka One Plus stated, ”We witnessed the immense hardship faced by rickshaw pullers and pedestrians in this extreme heat. We are delighted to offer them a small measure of support. If our humble endeavor inspires others, our efforts will be worthwhile.”
This action has drawn the attention of numerous young people, leading them to inquire about the Leo and Lions Clubs and express interest in joining. A club member shared, ”While distributing water and saline, many youths approached us, eager to learn about the Leo Club and Lions. Their enthusiasm was truly heartwarming.”
