The Journey of the Peace Poster Contest: A Celebration of Creativity and Peace
Peace Poster Contest was organized with the vision of uniting young minds to express their creativity around the theme ”Peace Without Limit.” Organized by Lions International Club, District 315B1, and partnered with HP DesignJet, this contest aimed to inspire students to use their artistic talents to promote the message of peace.
The first step was to create a visually engaging banner to promote the event across social media platforms. The banner not only showcased the theme but also captured the excitement of what was to come. After the banner was posted, a registration link was shared via social media, and the response was overwhelming. Over 200 students from more than 15 schools registered, eager to participate and share their artistic interpretation of peace.
As the event day approached, preparations were in full swing. A cotton candy machine was set up to add a fun, carnival-like atmosphere for the children, along with other snacks to keep the participants energized. The anticipation was palpable as the students arrived, each eager to contribute their unique perspective on peace.
The participants were divided into three age groups, and the contest proceeded with creative energy flowing throughout the venue. The judges were faced with the challenging task of selecting winners from each group, as all the entries were remarkable in their own way. In the end, there were three winners from each group (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place).
Thanks to HP DesignJet, the winning artworks were scanned and printed in A2 size, transforming the students’ creativity into professional, large-format prints. These beautifully printed posters were then presented to the nine winners as a special memento of their achievement. Along with their prints, the winners also received a crest, a certificate, and a gift voucher from KFC. Every participant, regardless of placement, was acknowledged with an appreciation certificate, recognizing their effort and talent.
As the event came to a close, excitement continued to build with a raffle draw, adding an extra layer of fun and celebration to an already unforgettable day.
Through this journey, the Peace Poster Contest not only provided a platform for young artists to express their views on peace but also created lasting memories for all involved. From the social promotion to the final raffle draw, it was a collective effort that brought people together to celebrate the power of creativity and the hope for a peaceful future.
